Derived from the author’s master’s thesis, the book examines Spanish-era dams and irrigation systems in Cavite and Laguna. Mr. Sembrano holds a Master of Arts degree in Cultural Heritage Studies from the University of Santo Tomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila. He is the current President of the Manila Studies Association and Board Member of the Philippine National Historical Society. He also writes for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and Daily Tribune about arts, culture, heritage, and heritage conservation issues.
